PCE Northeast (8 days)

We will be birding in the PERNAMBUCO CENTER of ENDEMISM (PCE), a part of the Atlantic Forest situated north of the São Francisco River. The PCE is the most threatened portion of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil (LESS THAN 2% of its original cover still remain) because of extensive sugar cane plantations and cattle ranching, which has sadly already taken some birds of this region to extinction. The birds on the cover are: Long-tailed Woodnymph, Pinto’s Spinetail, White-collared Kite and the Seven-colored Tanager, all of them endemic to the PCE.
